Two new models are enhancing the Mercedes-Benz model port-folio in spring 2010. The new-generation R-Class can be ordered now, with an entry-level price of Euro 42,100*. The new-generation R-Class has the appearance of being cast from a single mould. The completely redesigned front end with its restyled bonnet, wings, radiator grille, headlamps and bumper gives the entire vehicle a harmonious, dynamic and powerful presence. Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) has secured two new major orders, thus substantially exceeding the sales milestone of 10,000 BlueTec trucks. “By enabling us to reach the 10,000-order milestone, our customers have shown that BlueTec is the best choice for complying with the stringent EPA 2010 emissions standard”, said Martin Daum, President and CEO of DTNA. The latest orders were placed by the fleet operator Penske Truck Leasing and the retailer Meijer. Mercedes-Benz Vans has received another major order and will deliver 600 Mercedes-Benz Sprinters to Belgium. The contract was awarded by Brussels-based Belgacom, Belgium’s leading provider of telecommunications and Internet services as well as digital TV. One of the largest companies in Belgium, Belgacom has almost 17,000 employees and maintains a fleet of more than 8.000 cars, vans, and trucks. The first Mercedes-Benz Sprinter was delivered to the customer in December 2009. Over the next two years, Mercedes-Benz Vans will deliver some 25 vehicles per month to Belgacom.
