Mercedes-Benz managed to collect about $2.5 million in lease or loan payments through its smartphone apps, according to Andreas Hinrichs, the company’s vice president of marketing. The majority of that amount came from iPhone users, who accounted for about $2 million.
The apps allow Mercedes-Benz financial customers to pay their monthly leases or car loans, manage their accounts, locate the nearest Mercedes-Benz dealer, contact a customer service representative or view company news.
“We wanted to be the first out there and now we have seen rapid customer adoption,” Hinrichs said during an interview Friday.
More than 11,000 people have downloaded the iPhone app and another 7,800 have visited the mobile site to install the option on their smartphones. A few tweaks have also made the iPhone application compatible with the iPad. The Mercedes-Benz app is available for free from Apple’s app store.
IMHO you’ve got the right aswenr!
