Daimler, aims to sell 300,000 Mercedes-Benz cars in China annually in 2015, its chief executive said on Friday, nearly tripling its sales this year. China will become the biggest market for Daimler AG's (DAI.XE) Mercedes Benz Cars unit, around 2014 to 2016, Daimler Chief Executive Dieter Zetsche said Friday. Zetsche also said he doesn't expect any major overcapacity in China's auto industry if its economic growth remains at a fast pace. Sales of Mercedes-Benz cars were up 13.2 percent in the year to June as strong demand for the premium brand in China and the United States helped drive growth, parent company Daimler AG said Monday. Mercedes-Benz sold 113,300 cars worldwide last month, making it the best June performance in its history, Daimler said. The premium brand's sales in China were up 177 percent last month to 13,700 cars, U.S. sales were up 20.5 percent to 18,300, and sales in Japan gained 26.5 percent compared with June last year to reach 3,400. There also was strong growth in Brazil, Russia and India: Daimler reported sales increases of more than 70 percent in all three of the emerging markets. Mercedes-Benz Vans has received another major order and will deliver 600 Mercedes-Benz Sprinters to Belgium. The contract was awarded by Brussels-based Belgacom, Belgium’s leading provider of telecommunications and Internet services as well as digital TV. One of the largest companies in Belgium, Belgacom has almost 17,000 employees and maintains a fleet of more than 8.000 cars, vans, and trucks. The first Mercedes-Benz Sprinter was delivered to the customer in December 2009. Over the next two years, Mercedes-Benz Vans will deliver some 25 vehicles per month to Belgacom. Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) today reported April sales of 18,228 vehicles, an increase of 25.1%, beginning the second quarter with a 25.5% increase on a year-to-date basis. Continued strong demand in both the Mercedes passenger car and light-truck categories fueled the sales volume for the month.  In the sedan category, the popular C-Class – the gateway to the Mercedes-Benz brand for younger as well as first-time Mercedes-Benz buyers – maintained its lead as the volume leader with sales of 4,624.  The 9th generation E-Class continued to exhibit strong momentum with sales of 4,528 (up 152.3%) and the versatile M-Class SUV followed suit with sales of 2,269.
