Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the E 300 L - a long wheelbase E-Class sedan - at the Auto China 2010 show. The LWB version of its E-Class that offers 14 cm more leg space. The extended wheelbase variant will also come as an E 260 CGI model. The new model is part of a growing trend in the Chinese market for extended wheelbase variants of premium brand vehicles. And the market is a very important one for Mercedes with its sales having grown 112 percent in the first quarter of this year. Packed with useful new safety technology, the stylish 2011 E350 4MATIC wagon is expected to reach U.S. dealerships this summer. Smart-looking aluminum roof rails are standard, and inside, a 60-40 fold-down rear seat makes for cavernous cargo capacity that's highly flexible. For example, the E-Class wagon can carry a grandfather clock and still accommodate three occupants, or a load of lumber can be carried with four people aboard.
